The existing flexible connection was documented first
The before photo shows a black flexible rubber coupling joining two sections of overhead drain piping inside an open commercial wall. Flexible couplings can be appropriate in specific listed applications, but material, support, access, movement, and local requirements all matter when evaluating a permanent repair.
For this project, the repair scope called for replacing that connection with rigid PVC. Recording the original condition gives the property owner a clear reference for the change and preserves the exact location of the work.
The completed repair creates a solid PVC connection at the documented overhead drain-line joint while preserving the existing pipe route.
A rigid PVC coupling completed the repair
The after photo shows the same overhead pipe route with the flexible connector removed and a white PVC coupling installed between the existing pipe sections. The visible primer and finished joint document the new rigid connection at the repair location.
